My friends, as we pull hard on our oars through the choppy waters, perhaps we think again. We
remember we are Rotarians belonging to an organization with a Foundation for peace, an
organization that can constantly offer hope through educational and charitable projects.

Bob Scott, Chair, The Rotary Foundation Trustees
International Assembly 2008

The purpose of the Foundation is to assure us of Rotary in perpetuity, by providing for
contingencies and unforeseen emergencies, that we may continue to serve all humanity,
in the interests of permanent world peace, and all those fine contributions to art, health,
science, character, etc., and to such a degree as to make Rotary's contribution an
important factor in this present-day civilization.

Arch C. Klumph, RI President 1916-17

The Rotary Foundation Resource Page for Rotary Leaders

Through Foundation grants and programs, Rotarians and other contributors can help change the world. They can finance a well for a village that lacks clean water, improve the environment, or provide scholarships to educate the next generation. The grants and programs available to Rotarians allow them to realize Rotary’s humanitarian mission throughout the world, including its number-one goal of eradicating polio
