Monty Audenart
RID Monty Audenart speaks to Presidential Membership Conference Vancouver - 2007

Rotary does not need to fear making a mistake in direction . . . We know our way is right.
All we need to do is to keep on doing what we have been doing. But as we grow, that gets harder.
There is danger in over-organization. We don't want to get away from the simplicity of our
beginning. We don't exist to serve Rotary. Rather, Rotary exists to serve humanity.

Arthur Lagueux, RI President 1950-51

RI Convention Atlantic City, 1951

I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.

Training

Rotarians are constantly seeking ways to develop their skills and increase their knowledge to become better leaders. Whether you’re seeking training skills as an incoming officer or as a Rotary trainer looking for resources, this section is for you.

Wikipedia encyclopedia defines Training:

Training refers to the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relates to specific useful skills. It forms the core of apprenticeships and provides the backbone of content at technical colleges and polytechnics. In addition to the basic training required for a trade, occupation or profession, it is recognized today that there is need to continue training beyond initial qualifications to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout working life. In the context of many professions and occupations this may be referred to as professional development.

Professional development often refers to skills required for maintaining a specific career path or to general skills offered through continuing education, including the more general skills area of personal development. It can be seen as training to keep current with changing technology and practices in a profession or in the concept of lifelong learning. Developing and implementing a program of professional development is often a function of the human resources or organization development department of a large corporation or institution.
